Gear Update: What's in My Bag for 2026

After years of trying everything, I've settled. That's a strange feeling for a photographer who used to be deeply gear-obsessed.

The kit I carry now is lighter than it was five years ago, and produces better images. That's not a coincidence.

I won't name specific brands here — this isn't that kind of post — but the principle I follow is this: carry the minimum that won't let you down. Everything else is weight that slows you to the moment.

One body. Two primes. A lightweight carbon tripod. A bean bag for vehicles. That's it.
